Mac Bundles and why you should buy them!

Mac BundleI’m monitoring my email as one normally would do, but I digress, there is so much spam out there that you are hard pressed to find the right information to read and assimilate between all the other junk.

Along comes Mac bundles which has been around for quite some time.  The idea was simple and a lot of small operations now see the benefit in participating along with the big ones as well.  You get a group or company to bargain on your behalf to get 5 to even 15 Mac applications at an extremely low discount.  A value bundle of good quality apps could cost you $29.99.  Now this in itself could seem pricey, but it’s a bundle of maybe $700.00 worth of applications.  Again you might not use all of these applications, but I bet you might have one or two or even more that you might’ve seen, demo’d or even ‘borrowed’ from a friend and are using right now.

The onus is on you to make the decision and buy the application or wait like I do and get a bundle for say $29.99 or even as high as $49.99, but then you get good value applications and maybe one or two really non usefull applications, but who cares you got your applications at the right price.   The art is to spot the bundles value for yourself and then make the choice and buy that application.

Not convinced yet, this is the bundle I bought today for $29.99 from Productive Macs

Other Mac bundles are becoming more and more popular.  There is a couple of sites that keeps track of all the bundles, I use AllMacBundles that keeps track of around 20 Mac bundle sites.

Hope you get the deal you want!

Sky Lanterns in the Northern side of Cape Town

Hi all,

Myself and Jesse were lying flat on our backs this evening to watch the stars, we switched off the lights to view a little bit more.  Seeing that it’s full moon out there (he loves the moon and stars) we had a little incident a couple of nights ago were a satellite or shooting star kind of scared him.  In the world of a 3 year old he was certain the star would fall on him and he ran for the house.  He’s okay now and refers to shooting stars as airplane stars.  He’s reference is airplane lights at night and this works for him.

Having been outside for an hour or so around 20h15 we stood up and walked up the stairs to change the view.  And low and behold these tiny red lights started to come across, I didn’t have my glasses on, so I saw red blobs, Jesse saw the (fire)lights and hauled ass into the house.  Again he wasn’t sure what he saw and when I realised it was sky lanterns I was pretty amazed to see them on this side of the world.

It took some reasoning and some Youtube to proof to Jesse that it was just lanterns, now he calls it little fire stars.

Still it is nice to be outside and watch these sky lanterns gently lift in the airstream and steadily blow across towards Panorama.   A plane did pass just moments afterwards, I wonder what the pilot’s thoughts were.

Good night all.
